Stuffed Peppers in Tomato Sauce

A hearty dish of peppers filled with meat and rice, often made for a Sunday family meal.

Ingredients

  • Tomato paste 3 tbsp
  • Bell pepper 6 pcs
  • Rice 150 g
  • Ground pork 300 g
  • Onion 1 pc
  • Water 300 ml
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Parboil the rice until half-cooked and let it cool.
  2. Finely chop the onion and mix it with the ground pork, rice, and salt.
  3. Cut off the tops of the peppers, remove the seeds, and fill them with the mixture.
  4. Dilute the tomato paste in water and pour it over the peppers in a pot or deep skillet.
  5. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer over low heat for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Serve the stuffed peppers hot, spooned over with the tomato sauce from the pot.
