Borodinsky bread canapés with herring

A festive cold appetizer served at gatherings or made quickly for tea time.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Thaw the bread at room temperature and slice it thinly.
  2. Cut the onion into thin rings, soak in cold water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  3. Remove bones and skin from the herring and cut it into small pieces.
  4. Peel the eggs and slice them into rounds.
  5. Spread butter on each slice of bread.
  6. Top each slice with a piece of herring, an onion ring and an egg slice.
  7. Garnish the canapés with a sprig of dill and serve right away.
