Herring in Mustard Sauce

A classic herring appetizer in a zesty mustard sauce, served at festive gatherings.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cut the herring fillet into small pieces and place in a deep bowl.
  2. Peel the onion and cut it into thin half-rings.
  3. Mix the mustard, vegetable oil and lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Finely chop the dill and add it to the sauce.
  5. Pour the sauce over the herring and onion, gently stir.
  6. Let the appetizer chill in the fridge for 15 minutes so the flavors blend.
  7. Serve cold as an appetizer for a festive table.
